FAQ
What people ask before signing on, from the scope of the service to the free report, how we audit, rewriting and the client portal.
Service
What is an AEO audit?
It checks whether AI answers cite your site when customers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews a question, and finds what to fix so your site is easier to cite.
How is AEO different from SEO?
If SEO is about showing up in search results, AEO is about your name coming up when AI answers. The monthly audit covers both: on the search side, indexing, speed and Naver search results; on the AI side, citations by question and whether first paragraphs answer the question right away.
What kinds of businesses is this for?
Places people find by searching, such as clinics, tax firms, churches and academies.
Which AI answers do you check?
We ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews the questions your customers actually ask. For Naver, we collect search results for your key keywords every week.
Do you check Naver AI Briefing too?
Not at the moment. For Naver we collect integrated search results for your key keywords every week; AI Briefing, Place and Blog are outside the scope.
Free report
Is the first report free?
Yes. Leave your site URL and an email address for the reply, and we’ll send your first audit report for free.
What do I need to prepare?
For the first report, all we need is your site URL and an email for the reply. Once monthly audits begin, we get view access to Search Console and your sitemap URL.
What does the first report contain?
Four parts: AI answer citations, page scores, speed and next steps. We ask the three AIs the questions your customers ask and check, question by question, whether your site is cited; score every page (up to 300) on answer fit, trust signals and a direct first paragraph; flag slow pages by Core Web Vitals; and list which pages to fix first, and why. Index checks, which need Search Console access, and Naver search analysis are part of the monthly audit.
How do I receive the report?
By email, at the address you leave. We review your request and send the report there, and you don’t need an account to get it. Client portal accounts are registered by SAGAMORE when monthly audits begin.
What happens to the URL and email I leave?
They are used only to reply with your report. Requests are stored in a database in Supabase’s Seoul region, and only SAGAMORE’s operator can see them. To have them deleted, reply to our email and ask.
How we audit
What counts as being cited?
The AI answer lists your site as a source and builds on its content. The one number we count each month is this citation rate. An answer that mentions your name without a source is not counted, and this audit does not count site visits or inquiries.
How do you measure citations?
At the start we agree on a list of the questions your customers actually ask. Each month we ask the same questions once each to ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews and record, question by question, whether your site was cited. AI answers can change from one ask to the next, so we read the trend across months rather than a single month.
How are pages scored?
On three things: answer fit, trust signals and a direct first paragraph. Score = 0.4 × answer fit + 0.3 × trust signals + 0.3 × direct first paragraph, and pages under 2.5 are reviewed by a person first. Answer fit (how usable the page is as a source for AI answers) and trust signals (whether author, date, sources and expertise are visible) are rated 1–5; a direct first paragraph counts 1 if the first paragraph answers the question right away, 0 if not. We also sort each page by search intent and pick out pages too thin for their intent.
If page scores go up, do citations follow?
The score is how we choose which pages to fix; the citation rate is measured separately. A higher score means the page is in better shape to be cited; whether citations actually changed shows up in next month’s record.
Why do you need Search Console access?
For the index check. Which pages made it into Google’s index, and why others were left out, comes from Search Console data. We ask only for view access, when monthly audits begin; the first report doesn’t need it.
How do you measure speed?
With PageSpeed Insights data, judged by Core Web Vitals. The report flags pages that fall short on loading (LCP), responsiveness (INP) or layout shift (CLS).
Rewriting and publishing
Do you fix the site as well?
Yes. We rewrite the first paragraphs and Q&A of pages below the bar, and write and publish new articles where needed. Sentences with figures, legal references or professional judgment are confirmed by you before publishing. For indexing and speed issues that need code or server changes, the report names the page and the reason, and your developer or hosting provider makes the change.
What gets checked before publishing?
Sentences with figures, legal references or professional judgment. First paragraphs and articles that contain them go live only after you confirm them, and the request to confirm appears at the top of the client portal under “What you need to do”, with a deadline.
Do you change code or servers too?
No. For indexing and speed issues that need code or server changes, the report names the page and the reason, and your developer or hosting provider makes the change.
Client portal
Where can I see progress?
In the client portal. Audit progress and monthly reports are posted there, and only records published to you are visible.
How do I log in?
With the Google or Kakao account of your registered email. SAGAMORE registers your account when monthly audits begin, and emails that aren’t registered can’t get in.
What can I see in the portal?
What you need to do, which stage we are at and this week’s work, new articles and rewritten pages, and monthly reports, on one screen. Articles and rewritten pages stay there as deliverables with their published URLs.
What is in the monthly report?
Six parts: summary, AI citations, page scores, indexing and speed, Naver search, and next steps. It compares the AI answer citation rate for the same questions with last month and lists pages below the bar and what to fix first.
Free. Just your URL and an email.
